NORTHCROSS KIDS

1 YEAR OLD - 4TH GRADE

NC Kids meets every Sunday morning during the 9 and 10:30 services. Each week children learn an age- appropriate Bible Story that they can apply to their lives.  They learn the story through a variety of small and large group activities.

CHECK IN

Parents check in their children at the NC Kids Check-In area. Children are given a name tag to wear that displays their name and a unique security code for the day and any other important information. Parents are given a tag that contains the corresponding security code to keep for pick-up.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • When you arrive, stop by the NC Kids check-in kiosks. A NC Kids volunteer will meet your family, check your child in, and lead you and your child to their room. Plan to check in at least 10 minutes prior to the service to be sure your kids don’t miss any of the fun!

The first time your child checks in, we’ll ask for the following personal information: parent/guardian names, child’s name and birth date, address, cell phone number, and any special instructions (allergies, special needs, etc.) for your child.

You and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will wear the name tag portion while you keep the matching security tag. After the service, you’ll return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will use the phone number that is on your child’s security code to send you a message. Please make sure to keep your phone available to ensure that we can get in touch with you if need be.

  • In our preschool and elementary rooms, your child will dive into Bible stories through a variety of large group lessons, games/activities, songs, small group discussions with leaders and prayer time.

  • Check in begins 10 minutes prior to the service. We encourage you to check your children in before the start of service so they don't miss out on any fun and so you can find a seat in the worship center.

  • We understand that NC Kids may not meet the needs of every child in your family. Your children are always welcome in worship if they’d prefer to be with you during your worship experience at NorthCross! If you need to leave worship for any reason with your children, you’ll still be able to participate in worship by watching the service being streamed in the atrium.

  • We let you take the lead because you know your child best. We have amazing volunteers who will help soothe your child and will make them comfortable for their time with us.

  • NorthCross offers a Nursing Nook, located in the women’s restroom just outside of the worship space. It provides women with newborn babies a place to listen to the service in a more private and quiet environment.

  • If you have children in 5th-12th grade, we have a spot for them too! NorthCross Youth is for 5th-8th graders and meets on Wednesday nights. NXT GEN is for 9th-12th graders and they meet every other week on Sunday nights.

  • The NorthCross pastors are happy to baptize anyone who hasn't been baptized yet. Baptisms are often done during a weekend service, but they can also be done privately. Whether you have questions about baptism or are ready to have someone in your household baptized, you can take the next step by filling out this form.

  • At NorthCross, we take the safety of your children very seriously. That’s why we utilize a secure check-in for NC Kids and require those who pick up children to show their tags with codes that correspond to the codes on their child’s name tag. The doors remain locked for the duration of the service. In the event that your child needs you before service is over, we will text the number you provided at check-in.

We also have a Children’s Ministry Handbook to detail our procedures regarding how to identify and handle cases of child abuse and neglect. All adult volunteers who work with children read and sign off on this policy. Volunteers also receive background checks prior to volunteering and every 3 years. They also receive training in person and online annually.

  • Children in 5th or 6th grade can volunteer alongside a parent. Children in 7th grade or older are more than welcome to volunteer as  a room helper in NC Kids, so long as there is room for more youth helpers. Please reach out to the Children’s Ministry Director with any questions.

  • NorthCross Kids periodically captures video or photographs of "life at NorthCross" including children's programming, worship areas, hallways, and commons areas. NorthCross may publish videos or photographs in which your child(ren) may appear with or without their name for lawful purposes such as publicity, illustration, advertising, social media, and website content. If you have concerns and do not wish to have your child(ren) included in photos or videos, please contact Kirsten George.

  • If your kid feels sick at home, they'll feel sick at church. We want all of our kids to remain healthy and happy, so we ask that kids be kept at home if they're not feeling well. We'll be very excited to see them the following week!

  • Due to potential allergies - NC Kids does not provide or allow snacks for any of our classes.
